Canny Social was established in collaboration with a prominent mental health charity in Northeast England. The platform aims to provide a secure digital haven for users to connect, share passions, and unleash creativity, free from judgment and division. We were challenged with creating a new brand identity as well as a custom application to serve their community.

A series of workshops helped define the company's Vision, Values, and Mission, laying the foundation for a set of guiding principles. The name "Canny Social" reflects the northern slang term for "good" or "kind," fostering a familiar and welcoming atmosphere.
The color palette, "Radical Calm," features natural, earthy, and vibrant tones, embodying freshness, sustainability, and creativity. Graphic elements derived from the logo encourage a flexible system for artwork creation.
Following successful brand integration, Canny Social sought a platform for safe and empowering community sharing and collaboration. The resulting platform prioritises security and well-being, offering reporting and hiding options for non-compliant posts.
We worked closely with stakeholders and gathered end users through a series of workshops. During these workshops we discussed features and use cases within the application. We found a large section of the users were using Facebook to share their ideas an create groups.
Although all of the users felt that Facebook was too open and wasn’t the need for a unique space to communicate with the likeminded community was necessary. Unique features include image galleries for showcasing artwork and strict sharing controls for specific groups. The platform is now purpose-built, free from Facebook distractions.
